The Joy Initiative

‘The Joy Initiative’ is a community-focused event taking place annually at Christmas.


We celebrate the greatest gift ever given at Christmas - Jesus.

The reality is though, this time of year doesn’t present itself as a joyful time for everyone in our local community. We know some are doing it tough and won’t have food on their table or gifts to give.


Our goal as a community is to support 25 families this Christmas. Days before Christmas, we’ll present the nominated family with a food hamper filled with everything they’ll need for a family breakfast on Christmas morning and gifts for all their kids.

What each family will receive.

  • Food Hamper
    • Gourmet breakfast food
    • Family snacks for the day
    • A personal note from the Outlook family or individual who purhcased the gifts.
  • Christmas Gifts
    • Individually wrapped gifts for each child in the family.
    • The potential of a separate gift for the parents/guardians

COLLECTIONS BEGIN SOON

Hamper Collection

We’ll start our food hamper collections on Sunday 3rd November. keep an eye out for the display and drop location in our gathering space at Rumours.


We’re looking to collect things like:

  • Pre-packaged waffles or pancake shakers
  • Maple syrup
  • An assortment of juices
  • Christmas themed tableware (napkins and paper plates etc.)
  • Boxed or packaged confectionary
  • Jams and preserves
  • Christmas puddings or cakes
  • Biscuits and crackers
  • Pringles, pretzels, and dried nuts
  • Any type of Christmas food such as rum balls and mince tarts
  • Any of your personal Christmas favourites

We are excited for this opportunity to partner together, as a fully devoted family, effectively reaching our community.
