with the future in mind, we remember where we’ve come from with thankful hearts.
We started as a small Queensland Baptist Church plant led by founding Pastor, John Merriweather.
We officially launched on Anzac Day 2010 with the desire to be a Bible-based, family-friendly, outreach-focused, contemporary church, with multiplying congregations. We started with a congregation of about 18 people (& their families) and began meeting in the Queensland Government's Department of Agriculture and Fisheries building in Rockville, Toowoomba.
After two years, we had outgrown this location and moved to the ‘Callaghan Centre’ at St Saviour's College in Toowoomba South. This location allowed us to grow and reach more people in the Toowoomba community by launching ministries such as ‘Outlook Youth.’
At the start of 2020, we commissioned Pastor Brent Van Mourik as our new lead Pastor after John Merriweather's retirement. We thank John for 10 years of fruitful and foundational ministry.
With the 2020 COVID-19 lockdowns behind us, we resumed in-person gatherings at ‘Rumours International Convention Centre’ in Toowoomba City, with the continued prayer to reach more people in the heart of Toowoomba.
After an important season of ministry, we farewelled Pastor Brent in 2023. His leadership through our revisioning process in 2021 was invaluable - thank you, Brent.
After a year filled with no shortage of transition and change, we welcomed Pastor Nick Lloyd (+ Jandee and their kids) as our new Senior Pastor in December 23’.
We find ourselves in a new season as a community but our desire remains the same: to see people become fully devoted followers of Jesus. Our continued prayer is that we will see it in Toowoomba as it is in heaven - becoming a people who effectively reach our communities.
Come and join us as we follow Jesus together.
